Now that we have seen (read part 1 and 2 before reading this) that God created this world to reveal Himself to us and that Love is a part of His character, we can now see how God loves and what that means to us. There are two things that stand out. 1. Submission
He loves by yielding authority, by giving up rights for God's plan (Philippians 2, John 3:16) Submission to one another should be a part of the love that we show for all of our relationships. Ephesians 5:21 tells us to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. This tells us to love God and love others enough to forfeit our "rights" for what is God's plan. God Himself set the example.
This cannot happen without submission. Unity is clearly displayed among the Father, Son and Spirit. They always seek to be in sync working towards what is good and right. This is the desire that God has for us as well. "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one.” - John 17:22 Often, we seem to be glad there is division within and among Churches, chalking it up to gifts and personalities that cannot yield to each other. SERIOUSLY? The Trinity shows us that three distinct roles of God are ONE. If a three-role Godhead can be in unity, so can we.
When we live this out, people see the love of God. "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." -John 13:35
